Dapper-dressed six piece Cheap Fakes are a much loved live band for a reason.
With suave moves and catchy tunes, their brass-fuelled funk and soulful ska have been moving festival crowds for nearly seven years.
The Brisbane-based band have already built a serious festival resume including Woodford Folk Festival, Surfers Paradise Festival, Golden Days Festival, Big Pineapple Festival, Mitchell Creek Blues ‘n’ Roots Festival, Originals Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Valley Fiesta and Island Vibe as well as their first tour of New Zealand in the wings.
2015 saw Cheap Fakes release their third album Modern Vintage, recorded with Grammy nominated producer John Merchant who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz and Barbra Streisand.
Modern Vintage comes off the back of 2010’s Stones & Sticks and 2012's Hand Me Downs, plus a bunch of national supports including Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Cody ChesnuTT & The Black Seeds and Kora.
