“I used to like Elmore James and early Muddy Waters and stuff like that – Robert Johnson and all those old cats.
When I first started playing guitar it was way up in the Northwest, in Seattle, Washington. They don’t have too many of the real blues singers up there.
But I went down South all the cats down there were playing blues, and this is when I really began to get interested in the scene.”
The concept of the show came together when festival Director Mark Duckworth approached Jimi Hendrix fan and band leader Phil Ceberano to take on the role of Musical Director for the project.
The idea was to celebrate the records milestone with several invited musicians and create a special ’one off' moment for the 2017 Blues On Broadbeach.
Narrated by Gold Coast musician Nick Stewart (George/White Russians) and complete with psychedelic visuals and lighting. This performance is set to blow away Hendrix fans of all ages.
