P.C. & The Biffs

If you’ve been waiting to wipe the dust off your old dancing shoes and rejoice in the revival of fresh 1950s Americana inspired blues rock’n’roll, then you owe P.C. & The Biffs a beer. Foot stomping, toe tapping, skirt swinging, glass breaking, dirty Deep South rock and blues – taking cues from the sounds of a modern Lightning Hopkins and Elvis Lovechild, P.C. and The Biffs have been playing to sold out crowds at their beloved venue, Lefty’s Oldtime Music Hall in Brisbane every second Saturday for the last four years. The debut album is inspired by frontman Pete Cullen’s recent adventures to the deep south of the U.S.A.. Cullen wrote songs inspired by the brass sounds of New Orleans, the cotton fields of Clarkesdale Mississippi and the three kings of Memphis, Elvis, BB King and Dr Martin Luther King. On Cullen’s return he and the Biff’s took to the studio where the recording process was pared back to the honest, raw roots of the 50s, with a few mics thrown around the room and a record button. The results speak for themselves, with a sound that panders to the purists, but also signals to a fresh new era for rock’n’roll and blues in Aussie pubs and airwaves. 2017 is a huge year for Frontman and songwriter Pete Cullen as he has undertaken the mountainous task of recording and releasing two records, P.C. & the Biffs “One Way in” and Pete Cullen’s “No Way Out” and the release of The Young Henrys Beer song in collaboration with MTV. Band History In the wee hours of a steamy morning in 2014, Alt-Country Songwriter Pete Cullen (The Daybridges, Rockwiz) would meet ‘the Generator’ Rupert Jenner (Sahara Beck) & Matt Eves (Described as Australia’s King of Double Bass) in the front bar at Lefty's. When Cullen asked long time mate Damon Joel (Busby Marou, Sahara Beck) to play drums, the band took on the persona of a 70s super group. Between them, the band have performed on every major stage and festival across Australia and supported the likes of You Am I, Spiderbait, Steve Earl, Zac Brown Band, Kasey Chambers and The Beach Boys, just to name a few! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipfOWZZ54e4
