Hailing from the South Coast of NSW, The Jacky Howellers have been etching their own path in the blues for nearly a decade. A two man outfit, consisting of Rod Mitchell on guitar, vocals and foot drums and harmonica ace Dan Sullivan the act has been a regular at NSW and Australia wide Blues and Jazz festivals. What you can expect from the acclaimed duo is “Footstompin Blues” of a traditional American 1950’s and 60’s era, drawing influences from past blues masters such as Muddy Waters, Little Walter & Howlin Wolf. Mitchell’s use of both electrified and acoustic guitar with stomping drums and Sullivans amplified and traditional style of harmonica has consistently delivered memorable “sweaty & rowdy” nights for punters of all ages.
The Jacky Howellers have delivered highly acclaimed shows at the 2014 Australian Blues Festival & 2014 Sydney Blues and Roots Festival. The Jacky Howellers continue to gain momentum, appearing with and sharing the stage with Australian blues monsters Fiona Boyes, The Foreday Riders, Ray Beadle, Ash Grunwald & Alison Penney & the Moneymakers of late and have toured 3 times with Australian blues legend Phil Manning
