Dates and location

Blues on Broadbeach is located throughout the Broadbeach precinct on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. If you’re unsure of where to start your festival journey, Kurrawa Park is a great place to start!

Blues on Broadbeach 2024 will be held from Thursday 16th May until Sunday 19th May, 2024.

You can expect sunny days followed by cooler nights on the Gold Coast in May. The average high-temperature during May is 23.5°C (74.3°F), and the average low-temperature is 15.3°C (59.5°F).

2024 Lineup

The first lineup for Blues on Broadbeach 2024 includes Melissa Etheridge, Samantha Fish & Jesse Dayton, Ana Popovic, Eric Bibb, Lloyd Spiegel and more.

Entry

Blues on Broadbeach is predominantly a non-ticketed event with multiple indoor and outdoor stages to enjoy. You do not need a ticket to watch the majority of the performances on our lineup.

 

Ticketed event offerings will be available during the festival, including the Twelve Bar Society, an exclusive membership made for blues lovers who want to experience Blues on Broadbeach with a difference. 

 

The Kurrawa Park Sunday Ticket is a brand-new addition to the festival that will host a special lineup exclusive to ticket holders, which will see New Zealand electronic-reggae-soul pioneers Fat Freddy’s Drop perform their only Australian show this year, alongside local world music innovators Tijuana Cartel and eclectic creatives BOOMCHILD and guests.

The festival is held within the Broadbeach precinct where you can come and go as you please to most stages and venues.

The Kurrawa Park Sunday Ticket is a brand-new addition to the festival that will see Kurrawa Park host an exclusive lineup featuring Fat Freddy’s Drop, Tijuana Cartel, BOOMCHILD and guests. 

 

Non-ticketed festival programming will still be on offer on all the other stages while the Kurrawa Park Sunday program is taking place, so there’ll be plenty of music for you to enjoy.

Absolutely! Kurrawa Park is the only stage that will be ticketed on Sunday 19 May. All other outdoor stages and venues are still non-ticketed throughout the entire festival.

Twelve Bar Society is an exclusive membership offered to give blues lovers the chance to connect even deeper with Blues on Broadbeach and the artists they love.

 

Sold out for 2024, Twelve Bar Society offers various member exclusive inclusions and offerings like ‘In Conversation’ sessions with artists, a Secret Show, VIP bar and more.

Accommodation

Stages and venues are programmed throughout the Broadbeach CBD precinct so there are many accommodation options that are within walking distance.

At the festival

Sorry! Unfortunately not. Blues on Broadbeach is an unlicensed event, alcohol can only be consumed within licensed bar areas within the festival and licensed partnered venues.

Sure! But only in licensed areas and venues. As the festival is held in the open precinct of Broadbeach, please remember that alcohol cannot be taken out of these licensed areas and venues.

Standard smoking laws apply at the festival, which is 4 metres away from all buildings including restaurants etc. There is also no smoking permitted in pedestrian malls including at the Broadbeach Mall.

Chairs are generally permitted and can be used within the outdoor stage areas at the festival.

There will be several toilets located throughout the festival precinct. You can also find public toilets inside The Oasis Shopping Centre, as well as in venues.

Of course! We will have security based at each of the stages and roving throughout the festival footprint, supported by a Queensland Police Service team.

In the unfortunate event that there is wet weather during the festival, our team have measures in place to ensure a safe environment and manage any programming changes. If we are required to implement any wet weather plans during the festival, an update will be provided on our website, Facebook and Instagram.

As the festival is held within a public area, local laws apply for bringing your pet to Blues on Broadbeach.

However, due to large crowds and loud music, we recommend that attendees leave their pets at home.

Thank you so much for your interest in Blues on Broadbeach, however we will not be requiring volunteers for the festival in 2024.

Accessibility

Yes, there will be accessible viewing areas throughout the festival that will be indicated by signage near the outdoor stages. 

Held within the Broadbeach precinct, the terrain consists of flat grass, paved areas and gravel. During peak traffic periods, particularly if there has been heavy rainfall, the festival precinct may become more difficult to navigate. We recommend people using wheelchairs and/or motorised wheelchairs use a wheelchair with large wheels for further stability.

Yes, there will be accessible parking close to the festival including at Old Burleigh Road, Queensland Avenue, Charles Avenue, Gold Coast Service Road and more. Check out the Broadbeach Mobility Map for more information on accessible parking.

Food & markets

There sure is! Blues on Broadbeach is situated in the heart of the Broadbeach CBD with plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, fast food and supermarkets to suit everyone’s taste buds.

We do! We support local Gold Coast businesses first and foremost, and those that align with the event values and compliment the overall experience of Blues on Broadbeach.

Kids & Families

We are a family-friendly music event for all ages, however, please be mindful that the festival can attract large crowds and some venues will have age restrictions due to licensing issues.

 

All Twelve Bar Society members are required to be a minimum age of 18 years old to enjoy all inclusions on offer, as there are various membership benefits hosted in licensed venues.

 

The Kurrawa Park Sunday Ticket holders are also required to be a minimum age of 18 years old.
