Geoff Achison

In 1995, Geoff Achison represented Australia at the Memphis Blues Foundation’s International Blues Competition. Playing a cheap, no-name acoustic instrument, he stunned the judges with his guitar & song writing skills and brought home the coveted ‘Albert King Award’.

The CEO of Gibson Guitars was there that day and offered to supply the young musician with a better-quality instrument. In 1997 Geoff was able to return to the states and visit Gibson’s acoustic division in Montana. There he was presented a beautiful Blues King Electro - model EC-30 and became an official endorsee.

Fast-forward 20 years and Geoff is now one of Australia’s most highly regarded blues/roots musicians. Through relentless touring he has successfully established himself on the UK, US and Aussie blues/roots scenes and his busy schedule has won him a swag of awards for his playing, song writing and live performances.

In his popular Solo Acoustic shows, Geoff performs a variety of blues, soul, classics & originals with his trademark Gibson. These days he also includes fascinating stories and anecdotes that have led him from shy country kid to international recording artist. From finding his first guitar under the stairs to jamming with musical heroes in New York, Geoff relates these tales with his lively sense of humour and encourages anyone with artistic ambition to dream big and follow their heart.
