Since his first release, Blues From the Lost Motel in 20211, Frank Sultana has been writing and releasing blues music and wowing audiences with his primitive deep guitar tones and whiskey-drenched vocals. He is a truly authentic blues music artist that will captivate Blues on Broadbeach fans.
Now with seven albums and four EPs under his belt and hundreds of performances a year, he has established himself as a great live performer. Whether it’s through Sultana playing support for some of Australia’s finest including, Diesel, Ian Moss, James Reyne, Mo’Juand the Whitlams, or international acts like Canned Heat, Nikki Hill, Tony Joe White, the New Power Generation and Gary Clarke Jnr, or at one of his own shows, chances are if you attend live gigs then you’ve witnessed Frank doing his thing.
With influences ranging from Mississippi Delta Kings like Son House, Skip James and Blind Willie Johnston right through to contemporary storytellers Nick Cave, Tom Waits and C.W. Stone King as well as the raw abandon of the Stones and Small Faces, he throws it all into the mix and produces a sound and a vibe that is truly his.
